When it comes to tablet, the Kindle Fire tablet has been a huge success story. Since Amazon first released the first Kindle Fire, there have been plenty of upgrades and updates. One of most impressive upgrades was the HD Kindle Fire that comes in a variety of sizes and colors. It also has content for a variety of audiences. Unfortunately, no technology is perfect and the Kindle Fire is a perfect example of that. If you are having any issue with your Kindle Fire HD, read on. Below is a list of the most common issues that you could encounter with your Kindle Fire HD and the Possible solutions to the problems.

Important Note: There are many people who own the Kindle Fire HD that has never had an issue with their device. If you are considering buying a Kindle Fire HD but don’t yet own one, don’t let this keep you from buying a new one.

Problem #1- Issues With Startup

The Kindle Fire HD freezes when you turn it on or if you cannot turn it on at all.

Possible Solutions :

  1. There are times that rebooting your device can help. To do this, hold down the power button for 20 seconds. Next, tap the power button to turn it back on. If it was a glitch that was causing the start-up problem, this might clear it out.
  2. Hold the power button for 20 seconds to make sure that the device is completely shut down. Next, plug the device into the charger and use the power button to turn the device back on. If you think that battery may have been dead, allow the Kindle to charge for at least an hour before you try to use it.

Problem #4- The Kindle Won’t Connect to the Wi-Fi

If your Kindle Fire cannot connect to your Wi-Fi, it is basically useless. There are a few reasons why this could be happening.

Problem #7- No Audio Through the Speakers or Headphones

There have been reports of users who cannot hear sound from their speakers or when they connect headphones to their Kindle HD.

Possible Solutions :

  1. Make sure that the volume is turned up. First, check the volume button on the side of the device. Next, go into the settings and select Display & Sounds. Make sure that the volume is turned up here as well.
  2. If you aren’t getting any sound from the speakers, try plugging in a set of headphones and then unplug them. You can also try to turn your device off and then turn it on again.
  3. If your headphones aren’t working and you have a case on, remove the case and try the headphones again.
  4. Plug in your headphones and jiggle the wire a bit. If it produces sound when you do this, your jack or speakers are probably faulty. In this case, you should contact Amazon and request a replacement.

Problem #8- The Pre-Installed Browser Won’t Start

There have been plenty of Kindle Fire owners who have complained that Silk, the pre-installed browser is not working properly. Some find that the browser is slow and others have had issues with it crashing.

  1. Hold the power button down for 20 seconds to make sure that it completely powered down and then turn it back on. This should get any glitches out of the browser.
  2. Try to clear the data on your browser. Go to Settings and select Applications. Next, choose Manage All Applications and choose All Applications. When you get to Silk browser, click on Clear Data.
  3. Try to download a new browser. A really good one is Dolphin.

Problem #9- The Email Isn’t Working Properly

Some Kindle Fire users have reported issues using their email. Some users find that their email works for just a short amount of time and then suddenly stop. Others report that the email doesn’t work at all.

Possible Solutions

  1. The problem could be due to a glitch in the factory installed email app. If this is the case, simply download a third party email.

How To Perform a Soft Reset and a Factory Reset On Your Device

Soft Reset:
Start by holding the power button for 20 seconds. You will need to slide the power switch so that your device knows that you want to reboot it rather than just shutting it off. When you let go of the switch, your reboot screen will appear. It will take a minute or two for the device to boot up completely and you need to give it the time that it needs.

Factory Reset:
Swipe from the top of the screen and select More. Next, select Choose Settings-Device
There will be an option at the bottom of the screen to Reset to Factory Defaults. You should understand that this will erase all of your personal data. You will get a warning and you should click the option to continue. It should take a few minutes for your Kindle to return to factory settings. You won’t need to turn on the device, it will reboot on its own.
